Welcome to my first blog – I am very excited to be able to welcome you to my new website. This has been a long time in the making…it has been my passion for so many years now to be able to offer you a One Stop Acne Clinic and I have finally established this at Aventus Clinic in Hitchin.
As this is the first blog post let me introduce myself properly. My name is Dr Sharon Crichlow and I am a GMC registered Consultant Dermatologist on the Specialist Register. I completed my medical training in 1998 and my Dermatology Specialist training in 2008. I am fully trained in all aspects of General Dermatology across all age ranges but I currently limit my practice to patients aged 12 and above.
I work in the NHS where I see and treat both inflammatory skin diseases as well as skin cancer. I run a Skin of Colour clinic focused on disorders of hyperpigmentation and I supervise and teach Dermatology trainees.
Privately, I see General Dermatology patients as well, but my special areas of interest are Acne, Rosacea, Acne scarring and Cosmetic Dermatology. In April this year, I collaborated with Aventus Clinic in Hitchin to establish a One-Stop Acne Clinic, catering to all aspects of acne management. I offer the full range of prescribed medical acne and rosacea treatments with highly effective bespoke topical and oral treatment regimes (including isotretinoin/Roaccutane) and chemical peels. We offer Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) for the redness of rosacea and now for the ground- breaking Aviclear laser, the first in its class, FDA-approved for the treatment of mild, moderate and severe acne without the potential side effects of isotretinoin!
Once your acne is clear, we have the amazing Cutera Secret-Pro device which combines two well recognised technologies for acne scarring i.e radio-frequency micro needling with CO2 laser resurfacing. These treatments can all be further optimised with regenerative treatments like polynucleotides, exosomes and with personalised skin regimes. It really is a one stop shop!!
