The Excel V+ laser can treat over 20 skin concerns, making it suitable for patients with rosacea, spider veins, facial flushing, cherry angiomas, leg thread veins, freckles, acne, acne marks, scars, pigmentation, and melasma.

The number of treatment sessions varies depending on the severity of your condition, but we can advise you in your initial consultation. In general, we recommend 3-6 treatment sessions to achieve the desired outcome.

Sessions tend to take 30-45 minutes, depending on the areas treated.

We recommend no visible or artificial tanning in the treatment area, so avoid sunbeds or sun exposure in the four weeks leading up to treatment and for two weeks afterward. We will do an initial patch test to ensure that the treatment is safe for you.

There is no anaesthetic required during the treatment as the Excel V+ is designed with an innovative automatic cooling technology. This produces continuous cooling throughout your treatment to minimise any discomfort. Patients typically describe it as a brief stinging or snapping sensation against the skin.

There will be immediate redness which can last for a few days. However, there is minimal downtime associated with this treatment, and you can usually resume your normal daily activities the following day. With more aggressive treatments, you may get some facial swelling most noticeable the following two days.

The Excel V+ Coolview for Redness laser is suitable only for skin types 1-3 (fairer skin) but these are the skin types most affected by redness in any event. The Excel V+ can be used for hair removal in small areas on all skin types. And Laser Genesis (the rejuvenation mode) is suitable for all skin types.

There is some swelling and redness in the treatment area immediately afterwards, but any side effects should subside after a few days.
